About
The church of Ephesus was founded by the apostle Paul. He built the foundation of this church during his return from his second missionary trip. (Acts 18:19-21) On his third missionary journey, Paul returned to Ephesus and was there for two years. (Acts 19:1-20:1) The work at Ephesus was very close to Paul's heart. Read the account of Paul's last meeting with the elders of the Ephesian church in Acts 20:17-38. The apostle Paul wrote this epistle to the Ephesians from prison. In Ephesians 4:1, Paul calls himself “a prisoner of the Lord.” Paul's true imprisonment was in the chains that confined him to the love of God.
